


Meet the original band members and founders of Uncommonwealth, Father and Son Andy and Ruben Brunt

Andy Brunt
Lead Vocals & Guitars
Born and raised in Sussex England, Andy has been playing guitar since age 8, leaning to play a Ukulele given to him by his cousin. Classically trained on guitar and piano at a young age, Andy joined his first band at age 16 called ‘Sahara’ which was also very nearly called ‘Oasis’ but Andy got out voted on the name! In addition to his ‘day job’ as an electronic component designer and manufacturer, Andy has continued to play in bands as a full-time member, as a session guitarist, and as a solo performer, playing and touring throughout the UK and the world. Bands and collaborations to date include Cause and Effect, EOM, Quietly Spoken Gentleman, Ladbroke Groove and Uncommonwealth, session work for Nick Van Eede a.k.a. The Cutting Crew, UK psycho-chill legend OTT with Chris Barker, The Sarah Jay Band and Paul McCartney’s ambient side project ‘The Fireman’ to name a few.

Ruben Brunt
Piano, Keyboards & backing vocals
Born in Vallejo, California, Ruben started playing piano at the age of 5, performing locally and in the UK and Europe, playing organ and keyboards. Ruben studied music and music technology at school and college, and he is an accomplished musician. Ruben also plays drums and percussion (acoustic and electric) and in addition to playing with Uncommonwealth and Ladbroke Groove, he is writing and performing with other musicians and involved in other musical projects, and DJ’s.
